St Bernard’s Hotel | Amanda + Jack
St Bernard’s Hotel is a stunning wedding venue on Tamborine Mountain, and a favourite amongst so many couples. The views are magnificent and Bec and her team are there for you every step of the way. The Lodge on their onsite accommodation and the perfect location for bride preparations.
Jack and Amanda met at a mutual friends Christmas party. Amanda wasn’t too interested but Jack persisted and lucky he did. Their first date was a double date with friends and that was it Amanda and Jack fell into their own rhythm fairly quickly with dating, simple dinner dates and movie date are their style. Amanda doesn’t remember too much other than talking a lot.
Amanda and Jack do things their way which I love. Amanda proposed to Jack when they were sitting watching The Order on Netflix, Jack was more so picking it apart than watching with Amanda. She told Jack she had something for him but wasn’t sure if she should give it to him now or later, Jack declared now would be good! Amanda handed Jack a box with an engraved pocket watch inside. It had his name engraved on the front and ‘Will you marry me’ on the back. But of course, Jack didn’t turn it over! Jack admired the pocket watch, looking all over the front an admired the inside discussing options about placing a photo inside the pocket watch, and talked about the watch face, but still hadn’t turned it over… Amanda prompted Jack to turn the watch over. Jack saw ‘Will you marry me’ and said, “I was thinking about this the other day” and he said YES.
During their ceremony rather than wedding vows they had a tree planting ceremony including their parents which was 100% them and a nice touch to their ceremony.
These two beautiful people who have been through so much already in their lives and I am sure their relationship is stronger than ever. Last year Amanda was diagnosed with cancer which absolutely turned their lives upside down. Amanda is amazing! I am sure everyone will agree. No doubt Amanda has had some very tough days, weeks and months but she has fought and to find out on your wedding day you are in complete remission, what amazing news to receive. There were many tears and I am sure Amanda and Jack are still celebrating, not only their wedding day but their great news.
